New Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been left impressed with the attitude of Jorginho in pre-season training. The Italy international had a mixed first season with the Blues last term but he managed to conclude the campaign on a high note as he helped the Blues secure a top-four spot as well as win the Europa League crown.
Jorginho’s future with the Blues came under consideration after the departure of Maurizio Sarri to Juventus and there were suggestions that the midfielder could head through the same route. However, that has not been the case and Jorginho seems content on getting valuable time under his belt ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Chelsea have started their pre-season with a couple of matches against Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic respectively. They are now scheduled to make the trip to Japan where they have games against Kawasaki Frontale and Barcelona to tackle. For those matches, Lampard will likely resort to most of the senior players at his disposal and that should include new signing Christian Pulisic, who has cut short his holiday by a couple of weeks to make the squad.
